The last couple of days were a melange, (I'm practising for France), of activities. There was a DC Jazz Festival event at the Phillips Collection. So we went with Beatrix to see what was up. The visit started, as it should, with lunch. Then we went to hear some jazz. It was interesting to see how Bea took to the music and really enjoyed it. They had an instrument petting zoo where the kids could try all of the instruments. Bea has found her new love, the French horn. She discovered that she could make good noise with many of them.
There was supposed to be a video here but it didn't work.
The art was not of my liking, but we had fun. Bea and I went to a music store to ask about French horns. And Sheelagh went to see Woodrow Wilson's house.
Yesterday, we went to church and another church lunch. Then everyone but Ngila went down to Georgetown for a wander. A flock of helicopters buzzed us.
Sheelagh and Beatrix had a go on the maze.
Then we came home to get ready for Bea's piano recital, which was great.
This was followed by an ice cream party for some of the girls' friends and their parents. Sheelagh and I then walked up the street to bid farewell to some friends that were heading home to New Hampshire today.
I love a melange! K
