Walking Glen Affric

Yesterday we took the day off and just sat about. It was necessary to recharge our batteries. Today, we headed off for Glen Affric as our guide book called it the prettiest glen in Scotland. Before we got there, we had a stop at Drumnadrochit while Von and John toured Urquart Castle.

George and I have fond memories of this little village on the shores of Loch Ness. We had stayed here 36 years ago and been treated royally by a dour Scots lady in her B&B. She gave us a story that George and I still laugh over. At breakfast, George was cutting his sausages with his fork. The lady came into the room, looked at him and said, "I thought you said you were a Canadian?" George replied, "I am." The lady responded, "Well, you eat like an American." She turned on her heel and reentered the room with a sheet of clear plastic. She picked up George's plate, spread out the plastic and then allowed him to continue his breakfast.

Here are the pictures from the prettiest glen in Scotland.
