Over The Sea To Skye

It was with sincere reluctance that we boarded the ferry from Tarbert to Uig in Skye. We all enjoyed the outer Hebrides so much. This day involved a bit of driving for us to get to Fort William.
The crossing took an hour and 45 minutes and was very smooth.

The port in Skye was settled in a small green valley dotted with white washed houses. We drove north around the tip of Skye and came upon a souterrain which had only just been found. This was an iron age subterranian place that was used by a family to live and for protection. John ventured in but found it half full of water sowe had a look and moved on.

The drive down the east side took us past the Old Man of Storr and a great deal of beautiful coastline. As we left Skye we passed the Eilean Donne Castle.

The rest of the drive was very treed and we went straight to Fort William. We checked in and went our separate ways for supper. A quiet evening and an early night was just wahat was needed.
