Showers In Glasgow

We had a great day yesterday. Dorian had classes, so we were on our own for the day. A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg is on here, so, since it was the first date Sheelagh and I ever had, way back in 1971, we are going to see it again, with our youngest this time. We went over to get the tickets in a pouring rain. As we walked back to the subway station, a car transport truck gave me my second shower of the day. The sunami wave came right up to my shoulder. My only wish was that I could have seen it happen to me. Stuff like that is so funny to watch.

After a change of clothes and a lunch, we set off for the Kelvingrove Museum. Since both of us are easily distracted, we saw, and responded to a sign to the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery. This was a great find. This museum, on the grounds of the University of Glasgow, houses the collection of Dr William Hunter. This gentleman was a Surgeon and later Patholigist who collected samples of everything, natural and manmade. We saw everything from a collection of Roman artifacts, to the testicles of a bird.Who knew? Perhaps I suspected, anyway, he also valued the collections of other artists and scientists, and they too were on display in a beautiful Victorian  display hall.
We had a good look around, both inside and outside the museum and the university chapel.

Then we hurried across the street to have a quick look at the associated art gallery which was also really worthwhile. It has been agreed that a return visit is in order.

We got home in time to get supper ready for the lad who is down with a cold. Shush mothered him and fed him and we had a pleasant evening together.
