The centre pieces of our first day in Palermo were two churches. The first one we went to was the Jesuit Church, Chiesa del Gesu. It was built from 1564 to 1578. It is a masterpeice of the Baroque style. The entire interior is marble. There is no paint on the walls.
The second was the Chiesa di S. Caterina. It was built from 1566 to 1596. It is famous for its marble sculptures of biblical scenes.
Then we really went for broke and had chocolate gelato. Sooooo gooood.
