We were able to contact our hostess and she picked us up from the airport in minutes and drove us to Treetops, our home for the next 2 nights.
We took a few minutes to get settled in and then we got a cab down to the beach front and spent the afternoon strolling the beach. It was delightful to get out and walk. What with sore backs and jet lag we have been quite sedentary for the last week. But today we got out and put about 5 or 6 kms on the old legs.We had been told that Port Elizabeth had the best beaches in South Africa. We are not going to disagree.
The Indian Ocean - the third ocean our feet have met.
The sand is like talcum powder, and the beaches are very clean.
The water was a really nice temperature.
"Are there sharks?", we can hear Ngila asking. Well, this is called Shark Rock Point, but a lifeguard told us, "There are no sharks here." So, Ngila, take your pick.
The last stop was the Coachman restaurant for an incredibly good dinner. Sheelagh had Springbok. About a pound of springbok.
yeah, these kids who see sharks everywhere :) Sharks at Shark Beach: I don't think so!
