Jubilees And Sandwiches.

We have had the blessing of son Dorian being home for the last couple of days. Dorian is a newly minted police constable in the small village of Lochgilphead in western Scotland. He works three different shifts with s few days off in between. He does the two hour drive home to Glasgow and his family on his days off.

He returned on Tuesday evening and has been here since. He goes back tomorrow. So, while Laura does her teaching, Dorian and Sheelagh and I take care of Harrison. Yesterday we took a drive over to Culross for lunch and a look at the 13th century Cistercian Abby. Dorian is a fan of ancient church architecture and described this one as only fair.

Other than that we played on the village green, walked through the village and ate.

Today Sheelagh and Laura watched the Trooping of the Colours at Buckingham Palace. After Dorian, Harrison and I walked down to find some breakfast, Harrison enthusiastically joined with the cheerers of the Queen.

Tomorrow when Dorian goes back, Laura and Harrison are taking Sheelagh and I on a train ride to Banchory for the weekend to endure, pardon me, I mean watch the rest of the Royal Platinum Jubilee with Laura's Mum.

  1. This is a great child-minding gig so far - minimum 3 minders to one little boy. Little Harrison is adorable! Jim and I enjoyed our tour of Culross in 2007.
