An Outing To The Country

What with the Royals all gathering to celebrate the Queen's 70th year on the throne, our Daughter in law Laura was so kind as to invite us to journey to the village of Banchory, the Marshall family seat. Banchory is in the east of Scotland not far from Aberdeen.

This involved a train journey from Queen Street station in Glasgow. Scottish Rail was having a difficult day and our assigned train had broken down. So, we were on an abbreviated substitute with fewer cars but the same large number of passengers. Fortunately, we had Harrison who charmed his way into, not only a seat, but a seat with entertainment.

Most of the passengers, many of whom were forced to stand throughout, learned about eating healthy vegetables. And we all enjoyed the diversion. Jeff, a part time DJ also provided Sheelagh with a list of, "Must see", sites in Glasgow. He was/is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He volunteered the iPad for Harrison and assured Laura that there was no bother about him hurting it.

We arrived at Stonecroft where Laura's Dad picked us up and took us the remainder of the way. Laura's family have a lovely home with beautiful gardens.

Laura's Mum and Dad hosted us to a delightful afternoon.
Harrison's cousin Jude was there to play. There was cake!!! and much conversation and laughter. All topped off with a pizza party. Who could ask for more.
