The trip across was uneventful. The plane left on time, almost. It stayed up in the air for all nine hours or so. The seats were hard and much too close together. It landed, a bit bumpily I thought. And our one bag was on it. Plus we got a meal and hours of movies and TV all just six inches from my face. The movies and TV that is, not the meal. My eyes have begun to uncross already. So it's all good.
At Gatwick we were met by Sheelagh's cousin Jan and her husband Brian who have been taking good care of us and have gotten us over jet lag already I think. We have had our first, but I assure you not last, visit to the Black Cat Tearoom for a cuppa and teacake. Yahoo!!!. This place alone is worth a visit to Eastbourne. After tea we strolled along the seafront picking out flats that would do us very well. We do this every trip. We always feel so at home here.
Yes, as you can see, the rain jackets are out and in service. We have broken the drought. We eagerly anticipate exploring Eastbourne in the next few days and will happily speak with you again.

We too have fond memories of Eastbourne. Please convey our greetings to J & B. Don't forget your earplugs if you go to the airshow!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to living vicariously through you!

Glad you have arrived safe and sound. Congratulations on breaking the drought. I think two weeks of rain should be enough. See you in three. :)
