Marching to Victoria

In the guide book it said bus passes had to be bought at the bus terminal in Victoria, the capital. Having been told in same guide book that you could walk across the whole island of Gozo in 2 hours, we looked at the map and thought,"Well, we can get to the capital in 45 mins." And so we set off, marching to Victoria.  We rounded a corner and saw a huge 'mother church' just in front of us and were very pleased at shaving time off our calculations. Unfortunately, the church belonged to Xaghia. And then a huger 'mother church' hove into view. That was the town of Xwekija.( There will be a prize for those who can pronounce these town names). Finally we spied the Citedal of Victoria and arrived 75 mins off schedule. At the bus terminal we were told we could have bought the bus pass on any bus. The guide book went over the Citedal wall.

We did a stroll around the Citedal wall after lunch. The views were beautiful. Then we caught the bus back to our little village of Qala - 19 minutes.
